Do-It-Yourself (DIY) Processing Expectations
At Farmchop, we offer a DIY processing option for customers who prefer a hands-on approach and there is a $50 setup & waste-disposal fee. This page outlines what to expect and what is required to ensure a safe, respectful, and smooth experience for everyone.
1. Booking & Scheduling

DIY processing must be booked at the same time as purchasing your animal.

Processing is available by appointment only.

Each DIY booking includes up to two (2) hours of processing time.

Late arrivals may result in reduced processing time.
2. What the DIY Fee Covers
The DIY setup & waste-disposal fee covers:

Use of the designated processing area
-
Basic facility setup and sanitation
-
Regulated waste disposal
-
Cleanup and preparation between users
This fee does not include labour assistance or professional cutting services.
3. Customer Responsibilities
Customers selecting DIY processing are responsible for:

Performing all processing work themselves

Bringing any personal tools, containers, or supplies they require (unless otherwise specified)

Completing processing within the allocated time

Leaving the workspace in a reasonably clean condition
4. Cleanliness & Waste Handling

Customers are expected to dispose of waste in designated areas only.

Excessive mess or improper waste handling may result in additional cleanup charges.

Failure to follow basic cleanliness expectations may result in loss of future DIY access.
5. Time Limits & Overage

DIY processing time is strictly limited to two (2) hours per booking.

Extended time or additional cleanup beyond normal use may incur extra charges or require rescheduling.

Farmchop reserves the right to conclude a session if time limits are exceeded.
6. Safety & Conduct

Customers must follow all posted safety instructions.

Children and unauthorized persons are not permitted in the processing area.

Unsafe or disruptive behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in immediate termination of the session without refund.
7. Compliance Notice
All DIY processing services:

Are provided in accordance with Alberta regulations

Are intended for personal household use only

Do not involve inspected meat or resale preparation
Customers acknowledge they are responsible for handling and transporting their food safely once released.
